Over the 42 years the race has been run in excess of £100K has been raised for local charities. The beneficiary charities are selected each year by club members at the AGM.

On the day there are two races: a 10km race for runners aged 15 and over and also a junior 1.5km race for runners aged between 7 and 15 inclusive.
